"Hello Gail and Wayne, I wanted to thank you for the lovely music that you provided at Margo's & my wedding. So many people commented on it. I feel privileged to have found you. Thank you once again. Michael"

What began as a Trio is now a Duet (Charlene Billard being the third but presently a resident of New Brunswick). Gail & Wayne continue to provide Musical Performances across the Maritimes & in the Dominican Republic as 'Acacia' with songs from their own original repetoire (on "What Matters") as well as old & new radio favourites (see below for dates). From Pubs and coffee houses to Weddings and fundraisers, they get around.
You may remember Wayne as the Drummer in various Rock n'roll Bands over the years (like 'the Fossil Band', eg) since his ripe young age of 18. His drumming has been appreciated by Country and Rock Fans alike. His guitar playing was featured mostly around weekend campfires with friends and Family.
Gail began singing with the Christian Rock Band 'Holy Smoke' (presently featured at the 7pm St. Peter's Worship Service in Eastern Passage), more of a late bloomer when she starting in her late 30's. She has been a vocalist with the Group 'First Class' (bar, show band in Halifax with lead singer Cory Adams) and also was in the Halifax Choir Group 'Saved By Grace' led by Shauntay Grant. This Group represented Halifax in Toronto's 'The Gospell Challenge' aired on Vision TV. These days, Gail & Wayne do most of their performing together!

Acacia has a great time sharing their humor as well as renditions of radio favourites. Their range is vast and diverse covering Patsy Cline, Shania Twain, Allison Kraus, Paul Stookey, Kenny Chesney, Hank Williams, Sheryl Crow & Kid Rock, Johnny Cash, Maritime Folk tunes, Anne Murray, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood ... and many, many more! Sing along with them, dance, or simply enjoy the ride.

PEWELRY

These unique Pewelry crosses were hand-crafted from the wood of an antique, dismantled Church Pew. This Pew was rescued from the 1960 fire which destroyed the original St. Peter's Anglican Church located at the corner of Caldwell Rd. and Cow Bay Rd. in Eastern Passage (where the present Graveyard sits. See the above newspaper article). If you visit the St. Peter's Graveyard, you will see a Black Stone Monument that sits on what remains of the Foundation of that 1st Church. On this Monument celebrating 175 years of The Parish, you will see an etching of both the original building and the present building which is located across the street. The original drawing for this etching was done by Gail.

One of our Pewelry Displays that Gail crafted from a washed-ashore local lobster trap
**************************

The Pewelry Display above was created by Gail and has been donated to St. Peter's Anglican in Eastern Passage. The little Church is a replica of the original St. Peter's that was destroyed in the 1960 fire (see newspaper article above).
Acacia Wood in Pewelry
It is said that the wood from the 'Acacia' tree was used to make the Ark of the Covenant (being plentiful in that area). The tree has angular spreading branches as shown in the silhouette photo above, that are covered in thorns among clusters of sweet-smelling flowers. It is believed that the crown of thorns Jesus wore at his crucifixion may have been those from the Acacia tree. The Spoonstudio also has a beautiful supply of Acacia wood from which Pewelry crosses can be made. Prices for all Pewelry begin at $10CDN.

Spoonstands
Spoonstands is where the Spoonstudio all began
back in 2001. We must apologize, however, as our Spoonstand
Construction is temporarily on hold due to an overloaded schedule.
When the wood shop opens up again ... you'll
see the notifcation here first!

'Spoonstands' gave birth to The Spoonstudio. The design and hand-crafting of custom made guitar stands is where the Spoonstudio began in 2001. Our unique details truly make this instrument stand one of a kind. We upholster and finish by hand as well and you, the Client, receive emailed photos that follow the process each step of the way ... so you can watch it being created! We have Spoonstands all over the world now: from Hampton, England ... to Key West, Florida and the Pacific Coast of California. We do not keep a ready supply on hand. Each Spoonstand is designed to fit your instrument and you get to choose the colour of the upholstery as well. Please allow 8 weeks for hand-crafting as Gail is the sole creator, and she takes the time to do the job properly. Prices begin at $150.
