THE ROVING YOGI ...
Beginning June 30, 2008 Gail will be
holding classes at various outside
locations (available beaches, blooming
fields, etc.). Some spots she'll be
frequenting will be McNabs Island
(1 hr class at the Historic Fortress
Location, www.mcnabsisland.ca ),
Devils Island (www.chebucto.ns.ca/environment/FOMIS/
history/hist-s11.html),
and the Salt Marsh Trail (www.novatrails.com/halifax/trails/saltmarsh) all located near Eastern Passage.
The Group will be meeting at a specified
location and heading out together in their
kayaks (Students must provide their own
kayaks). These are minimum 4 hour
adventures with a little hiking and history
added. Prices depend on trip desired and
of course all trips are weather permitting.
Gail and Wayne (Yogi in training) have
their Level 1 SeaKayaking Certification
from Paddle Canada and have been
paddling the area for several years. They
have also paddled the Florida Keys, parts
of the Eastern Nova Scotian Shore, and
Terrance Bay (watch Gail kayaking in an
upcoming NS Tourism Commerical this
Spring!)
Suggested Clothing: Non-slip footwear
(which will get wet), Towel, bathing suit,
Sun hat & glasses, sunscreen, sweater,
windbreaker (can get chilly out there even
on a warm day!) and of course your usual
Yoga wear. You can bring your Yoga Mat
or simply use your towel for a 'base'. Bring
a light lunch for a mid-way snack and a
healthy supply of drinking water.
These are an amazing experience!
